Finally spend some time in exhilrating Shanghai.

Day 10 Beijing

Day 1 - 2 Beijing

Arriving in Beijing, transfer to your hotel. Visit the Temple of Heaven, where local people practise Tai Chi, calligraphy and singing. Leisurely walk through Tiananmen Square to the Forbidden City and enjoy the panoramic view from Jingshan Hill. Sample the famous Peking duck dinner and marvel at a fantastic Kung Fu show, featuring a fusion of modern musical with Chinese traditional martial arts! (1B/1D)

Day 3 - 4 Beijing

A little outside of Beijing you get to visit the Great Wall of China, a World Heritage Listed site and one of the greatest wonders of the world. At the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall you can take a one-way cable car up to one of the many watchtowers to view the winding wall as it rise and fall over mountains into the distance. Walk the Great Wall on your way down and visit a Cloisonné workshop to see ancient craftsmanship on way back to your hotel. Before leaving Beijing enjoy a rickshaw ride through the zigzag alleyways called Hutong to catch a glimpse into traditional local Chinese life, visiting the Summer Palace where you get a chance to relax on a Dragon boat ride across Kunming Lake. Experience a comfortable overnight train to Xi’an.(2B)

Day 5 - 6 Xi'an

Spend the day enjoying a stroll (or even a bike ride) on the original City Wall, the most complete city wall that has survived through history and is also one of the largest ancient military defensive systems in the world. Explore the Old Muslim Quarter and Old Mosque, home to a large Chinese Muslim population and hybridity of traditional Chinese temple architecture with Middle Eastern influences. Taste authentic local speciality dumpling for dinner before enjoying the extraordinary Tang Dynasty culture show. Spend the last day visiting the historically significant archaeological excavations of the 20th century, the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, where you will find 7000 individually crafted clay soldiers standing on guard. You will get a chance to learn how to make these warriors at a workshop. See the intricately carved murals and feel the Buddhists chanting at Big Wild Goose Pagoda (2B/1D)

Day 7 - 8 Lhasa

Fly to Lhasa, visit architectural wonder – the Potala Palace, which towers over the entire mountain and the lake below. Visit the Jokhang Temple, the most sacred place in Tibet. Wander through the Barkor Circuit. Sample Tibetan cruisine for dinner. Explore some of the largest and most impressive monasteries of Tibet – Sera and Drepung and watch interesting monks debating. Stop at Norbulingka Park, the site of the Dalai Lama’s Summer Palace. Take a backstreet walking tour of the Tibetan Quarter and overlook the Lhasa Valley from the hilltop at Pawang Ka. (2B/2D)

Day 9 Chongqing

Fly to Chongqing, the starting point of Yangtze River Cruise. Visit the lovely Goose Neck Park and overlook the mighty Yangtze River and observe locals’ leisure life. Closely view pandas at Chongqing Zoo, wander through narrow streets and old wooden houses at lively Ciqikou Old Town, before boarding the cruise ship. (B)

Day 10- 11 Yangtze River Cruise

Sail through the Three Gorges and enjoy magnificent views of peak of shapes, rolling hills and small towns along the river. Onshore excursions to the Ghost City of Fengdu, take a Sampan (wooden boat) tour to one of the Yangtze’s tributaries, pass through the world’s biggest five level ship lock. visit the Three Gorges Dam project, enjoy a variety of Chinese cultural activities on board, such as Chinese silk embroidery lessons, Tai Chi morning exercises and more. Day 12 - 14 Shanghai

Disembark in Yichang and fly to Shanghai.Strolling along the historic riverfront Bund, where you see 52 magnificent colonial buildings and the contrasting view of “old and modern” Shanghai. Experience an enjoyable adventure on the underwater tram through the ‘sightseeing tunnel’, featuring light show and music as it takes you from the Bund to the Pudong New Areas. Indulge yourself with a panoramic view of Shanghai from the top of the Jin Mao Tower, one of the tallest buildings in the world. In the Old Quarter of Shanghai, you will head down the exquisite Yu Garden and neighbouring Bazaar where you will find modern shops in old style buildings. Sample a local speciality dinner before a beautiful evening cruise along the Huangpu River. The tour ends with a private transfer to the airport on Day 14. (3B/1D)
