Day 1 Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City

Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you will be met and transferred to your hotel to begin your tour in Vietnam.

Day 2 Ho Chi Minh City

On the first morning of your Vietnam holiday package, explore Saigon’s famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an amazing underground network of tunnels which stretches over hundreds of kilometres. You will have the chance to crawl through tunnels and learn how locals built underground hospitals, kitchens and meeting rooms during the war. In the afternoon explore art galleries and boutique shops on historic Dong Khoi Street. Take a leisurely stroll to the Central Post Office, the Reunification Palace, and the War Remnants Museum. In the evening enjoy an amazing cultural experience on your Vietnam tour with culture show and dinner cruise along the Saigon River. (B/D)

Day 3 Mekong Delta

On this day of your Vietnam tour, explore the lush countryside of the Mekong Delta, the “rice bowl” of Vietnam. Cruising through the canals, rivers and backwaters, you’ll learn about the daily lives of the local people. Taste exotic fruits, sample a Mekong specialty lunch, walk the island’s trails and go on a sampan ride through some of the small creeks and canals. (B/L)

Day 4 Dalat

Take a morning flight to the former French hill station of Dalat in the Central Highlands of Vietnam. Take a cable car ride over the pine forest and valleys to the top of mountain and feast your eyes on spectacular views of Dalat. Wander through colourful markets and abandoned French villas, and take a relaxing stroll along the beautiful Xuan Huong Lake. (B)

Day 5 Dalat / Nha Trang

In the morning visit the amazing mosaic Dragon Pagoda (Linh Phuuoc), step back in time at Dalat Railway Station, and explore the ‘French Quarter’ before a scenic drive through villages and tea plantations on the way to the coastal town of Nha Trang for the next stage of your Vietnam holiday. (B)

Day 6 - 7 Nha Trang / Hoi An

Enjoy a boat trip to the nearby islands off Nha Trang and visit one of fishing villages. You will have the opportunity to swim or snorkel. In the afternoon, relax on the beach. Spend the next day unwinding on your Vietnam tour by soaking up the sun on Nha Trang’s beautiful beaches before flying to the ancient harbour town of Hoi An. (2B)

Day 8 - 9 Hoi An

Enjoy a walking tour from ancient merchants’ houses to a Hokkien Temple and the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge. In the afternoon, browse through the colourful riverside markets. On Day 9 of your tour in Vietnam you have free time to explore. You might like to hire a bike, relax at a cafe, join a cooking class, or buy some handmade clothes. There are plenty of things to do. Day 10 - 11 Hue

Enjoy a scenic drive over the stunning Hai Van Pass to the imperial city of Hue, stopping at the beautiful Marble Mountain on the way. In the evening, sample a local specialty dinner. The next day take a cyclo ride to the Imperial Citadel, then take a cruise on the romantic Perfume River to the iconic Thien Mu pagoda before visiting the ornate Imperial Tombs. In the afternoon, take time out on your Vietnam tour and immerse yourself in a warm natural spring at Thanh Tan Hot Springs Resort to rejuvenate your body and mind. (2B/2D)

Day 12 - 13 Halong Bay

Fly to Hanoi and transfer to Halong Bay, one of the world’s greatest natural wonders, and board an overnight junk boat. Continue your tour in Vietnam and sail among thousands of limestone islands rising from emerald waters. The next morning explore caves and grottos, swim and relax on the beach, and spot monkeys. After lunch, transfer to the railway station for a comfortable overnight train to Sapa, the next destination on your Vietnam tour. (2B/2L/1D)

Day 14 - 15 Sapa

Upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. In the afternoon, drive to the Red Dzao minority village of Ta Phin, where you will experience their daily life and culture. Enjoy a spectacular view over the rice fields, learn about the process of rice making, and see the locals’ colourful costumes. The next day will be a cultural highlight on your Vietnam tour. Take an easy trek through the Ta Van valley with spectacular views of cascading rice fields. See different villages of minority ethnic groups for an insight into their unique ways of life and learn about tribal agriculture before transferring to the railway station for an overnight train to Hanoi. Day 16 - 17 Hanoi

On Day 16 of your Vietnam holiday package, arrive in Hanoi and transfer to your hotel. You will have free time that afternoon. (B) The next morning take a tour from Uncle Ho’s Mausoleum to his former home, the House of Stilts. Explore the fascinating Old Quarter where ancient homes and temples are interspersed with traditional stores. Stroll along the peaceful Hoan Kiem Lake and enjoy an evening water puppet performance before a dinner at the KOTO café – an amazing project aimed at providing vocational training and experience in the hospitality industry for underprivileged young people.
